Who is the Carmel Chamber Government Affairs Committee

Who Is the GAC

In an effort to stay in touch with what’s going on in government, The Carmel Chamber, with approval of the Board of Directors, has created the Government Affairs Committee, better known as “GAC”. Our mission statement is “to provide a basis for The Carmel Chamber of Commerce (“CCC”) to proactively engage in local, state, and federal government related issues, and to cultivate positive and productive working relationships with elected officials to create a healthy business climate for our Carmel communities.”

The Carmel Chamber of Commerce Board and its Directors supports balanced perspectives on the GAC. With an emphasis on collaboration and a positive approach, the GAC will review and discuss business related issues and determine if specific action is needed. This may include letter writing, speaking on behalf of an issue or matter or assisting in educating the community about upcoming issues that directly impact the business community. The GAC will report regularly on city and state wide activities and news, and will help to educate and inform by hosting workshops and forums.
