Welcome to Taste of Carmel, a sampling of the bohemian culture which was first found in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea, California in the early 1900?s and which is very much alive today. Taste of Carmel will be your gateway to exploring a quaint coastal village with world-class dining and top-rated wines while uncovering your own bohemian side.
Over a long weekend, Taste of Carmel features local food and wine; live music; outdoor activities; culinary education and experiences; a silent auction showcasing area restaurants, inns and boutique goods; all set in an ancient forest near a white sand beach.

Sample local cuisine from top area restaurants while you sip Monterey County wines, all showcased in the historic Carmel Mission Courtyard. Dance to a crowd-favorite, The Money Band, and then take a break from the festivities to bid on silent auction items ranging from restaurant specials to boutique goods. Get in the spirit and dress in your best bohemian outfit, anything goes!

Enjoy the bounty of the season with creations infused with fresh local ingredients from the Salinas Valley presented by Chef Todd Fisher of Tarpy’s Roadhouse. Each course will be paired with Monterey County wines from Carmel Wine-Walk-by-the Sea participants. The opening 45-minute reception introduces you to the bohemian flair of old Carmel when locals gathered to share a meal together. Your dinner will find you seated with a winemaker at your table who will explain the complexities and qualities of each of the varietals he or she has chosen to complement Chef Todd’s selections. Dining al fresco in the Sunset Center courtyard, you will be surrounded by the past during this Carmel Centennial year, but the flavor profiles of the wine and the food will be decided contemporary.
